What makes this type of work unique?
Sometimes health is really just getting rid of that common cold. But generally, it is way more dynamic than that. Ashley recognizes that health is unique to each of us. It means looking at the body as a whole unit; Mind, Body, Spirit.
Ashley integrates the philosophy and tools of Traditional Chinese Medicine with CranioSacral Therapy and NeuroEmotional Technique and Western research background to integrate more ways to uniquely address health.
What it means to work with Ashley? A deeper and richer way to dive into obstacles impeding you from living and doing what you want in your life.
What distinguishes the two types of treatment options?
Hands on work with Ashley is what distinguishes our two styles of treatment. Integrated Acupuncture sessions blend acupuncture with CranioSacral and NeuroEmotional Technique (NET) for 40 minutes during your session to offer a more individualize and comprehensive way to address health.
A Traditional Acupuncture session focuses on acupuncture. You session will begin with a few minutes of guided meditation and then you will have time to rest with the acupuncture needles for the remaining session.

Which treatment style is best for me?
In your first appointment, Ashley will work in partnership with you to set a treatment plan that best addresses your health needs and talk through what appointment style will help you do this most effectively. Most treatment plans consist of some combination of acupuncture alone and additional modalities layered in if needed.
For return patients, if you would like to receive integrative care with Ashley using different modalities then choose our Integrated Acupuncture session. Modalities include; CranioSacral work, NeuroEmotional Technique or guided meditation or Essential Oils.
If you would like to focus primary in Traditional Chinese Medicine, choose Traditional Acupuncture session. This is a great option for weekly regular care and use the Integrative Sessions to dive deeper when you need it.
Please ask Ashley for any specific questions and remember that during your first session with Ashley, you will go over treatment options together.
Still unsure? Start with a Traditional Acupuncture session and we will adjust your next appointment style if needed.
What is CranioSacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle hands on therapy that helps to relieve pain and tension in the body to improve the health of the tissue and organ systems. CST releases tissue restrictions in the cranioscaral system (cranium, sacrum, dural tube) and other joints of the body. CST looks at the connection between the muscles, bones and connective tissue. This is an important technique when there is chronic pain in the body, postural imbalances or scar tissue.
CST was developed by a biomechanical professor, John E. Upledger at Michigan State University. He studied and researched this technique and its applicability on a wide variety of health issues.
What is NeuroEmotional Technique (NET)?
NeuroEmotional Technique (NET) is a tool based in Chinese Medicine that helps restructure the physiology and patterning of chronic stress response and stressful memories. NET is a way to resolve acute and chronic stress. Long-standing health problems can have emotional components involved in the chronic patterning. Additionally, our emotional reality can dramatically affect our health. NET is an effective way to resolve long-standing health problems that have an emotional component and restructure the stress response in the body.
